This month a.P.A.t.Tfinally brought too term their debut long player, (L.p.) within days of  the loss of our nation's number one audio junkie, Sir Jon Peel. tis a little odd in that, if there was one person in this world that would have understood this record perfectly, and in a way was responsible for the currently stable existence of such underground musical genius, then it was surly he.

a.P.A.t.T, are a 5 piece musical mongrel of a project currently hailed as the city of Liverpool's number one candidate for most fooked contribution to its, (widely perceived as bogus), bid for city of culture. Meaning, this is a perfect example of the rich pickings one can find in its clubs and venues. This cd is much more like the vibes audiences of recent live shows from the Dingle to Dutchland have given witness too. (L.p.) goes far far far beyond the realms of mixed genre music, in fact its such a ludicrous mix of post- / pre-/  and dare i say, during-the-event-itself-rock... it has become its very own style of addictive frequencies, audio expression and musical guts, some kind of scouse Jekyll and Hyde ambient hardcore pop?!?!...... maybe.

This is their second official release on aPehAt recordings, though they have been documenting many, many hours of playing together in home made studio's and making live appearances under many names throughout the u.k for the last 5 years. This year they also accompanied Stig on a tour of Holland, (" what a country!"-General Midi) the kind of alliance that could easily soundtrack the end of the music industry as we know it.

Its a rare thing to have access to something this pure, usually there are middle

men taking their cut, watering down the substance, and selling it on with nothing like its original potent qualities... that's why sometimes ya have to wait a little longer and dig a little deeper for the good stuff, and when ya find it, hold on to it for the rest of ya life.... " theres a voice insde my head, it says that im in his instead"- Though we  are extremely saddened by the news of Sir john peel's death, to be given this record in return, in my opinion, is not a bad swap
